My Response: Splinter looks to be the must-see horror film this Halloween for true horror movie fans. It will be the horror flick talked about in comic book stores rather than around the water cooler, and that's obviously a good thing. It won several awards at Screamfest 2008, so watch out Academy Awards! I think I see some shades of the classic film The Thing in this movie, but don't take that quote too literally. The only bad thing about this film is that it is in limited release, but definitely check it out if you're up for a fright!
